About Miles For Lincoln

Lincoln Gene Widiker was born on November 27, 2024. From the moment he was born, there wasn’t anything we wouldn’t do for him. Lincoln was the most perfect little boy. He was always so happy and had the most contagious smile and laugh. When Lincoln smiled, he smiled with his whole heart. He was the light of our world, our little sunshine and greatest blessing. He knew nothing but love!

When Lincoln was 3 ½ months old, our world stopped when we received the call that Lincoln had choked at daycare and was being rushed to the hospital. Lincoln went without sufficient oxygen for almost an hour. We spent the week in the hospital, praying for a miracle. Unfortunately, due to the lack of oxygen, his brain damage was too severe and irreversible. Lincoln was so strong during that week, and we ask him daily to give us the strength he had. On March 23, 2025, 4 days before he’d turn 4 months old, Lincoln gained his angel wings. Lincoln was able to donate his kidneys to a 62-yr old woman in Pennsylvania, and his lungs and intestines to Minnesota for research on Type 1 Diabetes.
He truly is a little hero!

Losing Lincoln has left a hole in our hearts that will never be filled. As we try to adjust to our new normal, we have been trying to focus on positive ways to grieve and cope. In May 2025, we attended
Faith’s Lodge. Faith’s Lodge helped us learn how to navigate our grief, while also giving us the opportunity to connect with other bereaved parents. These connections helped us feel less alone.

On September 21st, Nathan is running a marathon and Lisa is running a half marathon in honor of Lincoln, who never had the opportunity to walk or run. We are creating a fundraiser in Lincoln’s memory, with all proceeds going towards Faith’s Lodge. Your donation will help Faith’s Lodge continue to be a space for bereaved parents to attend during their grief journey and connect to others going through similar hardship.

All donations to Faith’s Lodge in Lincoln’s memory can be made on this page. Thank you for all your love and support as we honor our sweet baby Lincoln!

Love,
Nathan and Lisa
